Rouge was admitted to Ironside Bird Rescue, Cody WY, with a damaged wing and brought to YWS when the wing did not heal correctly. Being new to human care, he was initially nervous when our keepers entered his enclosure. After patient training, he is now more comfortable with their attention. Ferruginous hawks are the largest hawks in North America and are named for their rouge appearance.
