People Awareness Day: May 24

During the month of May, Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary will provide bear information and training for safety including:

  • How to recognize the difference between a black bear and a grizzly.
  • How to identify signs of bear activity.
  • How to carry and use bear spray.
  • How to report bear activity to keep bears and humans safe.
  • How to plan for safe hiking and camping in bear country.
  • What to do if you come face-to-face with a bear.
