Fall Bear Education Day: September 12, 2026

As fall approaches and bears prepare for winter, join Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary for a day of learning all about bears and how we can safely share the landscape with them.

Throughout the day, visitors can practice their bear spray skills, attend Bear Aware presentations, explore interactive bear safety activities, and enjoy fun crafts and games for the whole family. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about bear behavior, safety, and the importance of being bear aware in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Be sure to visit the bear enclosure for special bear keeper talks at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm featuring our resident black bears, Bo and Bluebeary. These talks offer a closer look at their behaviors, personalities, and what it takes to care for bears in a sanctuary setting.
